We, the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus & Mary serving India since 1842, commit ourselves to the promotion of a just and humane society in our country. The inspiration to ‘make God known and loved’ propounded by our Foundress Claudine Thevenet, since 1818, continues to strengthen this commitment.
In the India of today, the pressures of Casteism, Communalism, Poverty and Exploitative structures make it imperative for the students to equip themselves not only with intellectual skills but also with a set of attitudes imbued with social, moral and spiritual values.
Our commitment to develop and impart community oriented education is specifically designed to benefit the young and among them, the poor so that in turn they becomes instruments of social change. We also seek to sensitise and conscientious them of their rights and duties towards humanity and encourage them to struggle in the face of ongoing oppression and exploitation, for establishment of an egalitarian structure.
We seek to collaborate with students and parents in realizing our challenging vision of bringing about a New India free from all kinds of oppressions and thriving in God’s love of mutual respect and cooperation.
